Spanish mornings in Seville!

One of Spain’s most prestigious hotels, Hotel Alfonso XIII – A Luxury Collection Hotel is located next to Seville’s Real Alcazares. It offers an outdoor swimming pool, gym and a typical garden courtyard with fountain.

Euphoria retreat: A transformation journey!

Euphoria retreat is a holistic wellbeing destination spa that invites you to a personal journey of transformation following an authentic healing philosophy in a unique cultural and historical location: The Unesco –protected town of Mystras in mythical Peloponnese.

We were recommended not to drink coffee, alcohol or use our mobile phones while we were experiencing our personal transformation journey at the Euphoria retreat.

And even though it seemed difficult at the beginning, the lovely alternatives offered by the Euphoria –like the herbal tea experience- made us change our minds.

No phones were needed when we had a light bio lunch at the Gaia restaurant and certainly not needed when we entered the unique pool and spa and enjoyed one of the most relaxing massage by awarded therapists.

We had to capture a few pictures though of the magical Mystras castle during our morning trekking ritual and a glass of local red wine at night at the highly recommended tavern in Mystras called ‘Chromata’ ! An experience not to be missed.

Brach Paris: Modern romanticism!

Philippe Starck is best known for his distinctive approach to design. The French designer, architect and creator has plenty of experience when it comes to designing interiors, having already created some of the world’s best, including the Hudson Paramount in NYC and Le Meurice Hotel in France. Quite recently, Starck extended his hospitality resumé by designing the Brach Hotel, which opened this month in Paris!
“My hotels aren’t based on any particular cultural, fashion, or architectural aesthetic. I create mental spaces, emotional surprises, and enigmas. A successful hotel today is a contrast between the purely emotional and purely functional.” – Philippe Starck
Brach is situated in the 16th arrondissement neighbouring the Trocadéro, Eiffel Tower and Passy market. All the emotions and possibilities of a place brimming with positive energy for locals and travellers alike.
“Brach is all about the period when the Dadaists, surrealists, and architects like Le Corbusier discovered Africa and what would later be known as art brut,” disclosed Starck. “It’s Bauhaus modernism with African wonder. The Brach could be Pierre Jeanneret’s, Charlotte Perriand’s or Mallet-Stevens’s place, with a nod to Pierre Chareau’s glass house—it just might spark up the revival of this very staid part of the 16th,” concluded the French creator.
The hotel is comprised of 52 guest rooms and seven suites. Due to the rooms’ massive high structure, Strack was able to play with volume, installing unreachable decorative shelves with eclectic displays of books, photos, and African masks. Inspirations based on the work of Le Corbusier, the renowned French-Swiss architect and designer, can be seen especially in the furniture and room fixtures.
Lastly, the hotel also highlights plenty of other amenities such as a fitness centre, two pools, a bar, a pastry shop managed by Yann Brys and an extraordinary Mediterranean restaurant. On the rooftop, guests can benefit from a 4,300-square-foot vegetable garden, a deck and a jacuzzi.

This is an amazing and benevolent living patchwork, creating a lifestyle to fulfil every dream!

A new modern country style

Bedrooms and suites
The hotel comprises 232 luxury bedrooms and suites. The bedrooms are being

corridors to link the hotel spaces together – with antique Persian patterns and special
herringbone wall coverings with bespoke lanterns highlighting room numbers. The

The new design of The Royal Lochnagar, the hotel’s royal suite, was completed by the
Ennismore Design Studio and exudes the grandeur and elegance one expects, but
without the stiff formality often associated with the highest tier of hotel suites. The
designers’ vision for the 170m2 space was to create an opulent, charming and relaxing
space, which would feel at once glamourous and homely – reflecting the atmosphere
of the public spaces within the hotel, as well as the warm Scottish hospitality for which
Gleneagles is renowned.
Other suite categories include Estate Suites, Whisky Suites and Spirit Suites. Signature
suites include the stately Royal Lochnagar Suite and the more contemporary Blue
Tower Suite – both of which have been refurbished.

What better an idea than spending the holidays with your family! Especially, in an environment ideal for the whole family like the Suvretta House in St Moritz, Switzerland.

The Suvretta House is a historic hotel , established in the 1910s.  Since then, this 5-star residence offers unique hospitality to all those who decide to spend some time within its premises.

The Suvretta House is located in the Upper Engadine and is nestled in an alpine, majestic location no more than 2 Km from St Moritz. It is surrounded by the mountain peaks of the Alps and is  near the famous lake of St Moritz. At first glance, it looks like a fairy-tale castle in the middle of nowhere but the truth is that you can have an extraordinary experience while staying there whether it is winter or summer.

Since its inauguration, in 1912, and throughout the years  the hotel became established not only for its ideal location but due to the luxurious services that were provided. It is also well known  for the celebrities that have visited its premises such as the Crown Prince Akihito, the Shaq of Persia, Evita Peron and many others.

A family getaway

Whoever has visited The Suvretta House can confirm that it is ideal for a family getaway. Children aged 3  and older are very welcome since there are numerous activities especially designed for them.  Well trained multilingual kindergarten teachers are appointed to take care of the little ones while they play in the hotel’s winter garden or outdoor playground in front of the hotel. The kids are encouraged to interact with each other not only by playing but also while engaging in arts and crafts always guided by well trained professionals. Fun games and other exciting activities await the little ones on a daily basis.

One of the most important activities during the winter holidays is of course, skiing! Therefore, children are encouraged to learn to ski by very well trained professionals provided by the  Suvretta Children’s Ski School!  All youngsters are invited to enter the magic of winter sports at the private children’s ski slope, right above the hotel! There, they can learn how to ski with a game-aided learning system, on a slightly inclined slope designed especially for them! A significant factor being that they are able to make new friends and have loads of fun in a safe environment.

Last but not least, while being in the fresh air all day, learning how to ski and playing outdoors the sure thing is that they will build an appetite, and what better an idea than the Teddy club! A restaurant exclusive for children! Where the little ones can enjoy their favorite dishes along with some traditional local dishes named after the favorite characters! Burgers, chicken fillets, pasta and pizza are just some examples of what the kids can eat! Not to mention Teddy’s sweet corner with delicious treats such as chocolate cake with smarties, sweet puffs, ice cream corner and the one and only chocolate fountain (available for 4 children or more!)

Hotel de Crillon, a Rosewood hotel-The revamp!

Entering the most elite hotel in Paris you have the feeling of being at a private palace. There are few places in the world where you can wake up feeling like royalty — but the famed Hotel de Crillon in Paris certainly qualifies.

Located in the famous Place de la Concorde, the historic hotel was designed by the architect of the Palace of Versailles. In 2017, after a $200 million renovation, the Parisian landmark was reborn.

Every room in the 3,000-square-foot residence offers stunning views of the Paris skyline.

“I like the idea of a slightly theatrical arrival,” says Chahan Minassian, one of the three interior designers working alongside artistic director Aline d’Amman and architect Richard Martinet for the three-and-a-half-year renovation.

For $38,000 per night, guests can awake in a mega-suite designed by Karl Lagerfeld called “Les Grands Appartements.” The fashion icon’s vision of chic French decor blends old and new; from the original marble sink from the Palace of Versailles, to the ultra-modern bookcase that opens with a push of a button to reveal a secret dressing room.The suite also features a room inspired by Lagerfeld’s beloved cat, Choupette!

Crillon counts celebrities including Winston Churchill, Charlie Chaplin, Madonna and Taylor Swift, Sophia Loren, Peggy Guggenheim, Orson Welles among its guests. Now, the hotel’s A-list visitors can also enjoy a wealth of new VIP perks, such as an in-house barber shop, custom fitted with chairs made from 1960s Aston Martin leather interiors, and a brand-new subterranean pool with gleaming gold tiles.

Or, they can head to the lavish bar-with easy access for outside guests, where they can sip more than 213 kinds of Champagne. Inside, the original chandeliers have been lowered for intimacy, while the original pastel frescoed ceiling has been given new life by warmly lit clouds meant to resemble the Parisian sky after the rain.

Below foot, a newly designed spa gives way to a hotel guest–only skylighted pool, with ceramic art  by American artist Peter Lane.

For the 124 newly redesigned guest rooms, three restaurants (one featuring Michelin-star chef Christopher Hache), gilded bar, and discrete spa, it is evident that all of the owners of the hotel wanted to preserve the 18th-century spirit of the hotel that has been a constant throughout the hotel’s history.
